Most favourably reviewed of the Superman films and an entertaining action-adventure, stylishly directed by Richard Lester. Terence Stamp is an excellent villain, and the action scenes are spectacular. But it lacks the depth and imagination of the first Superman, and takes an unconscionably long time to get going.
