Funny New York comedy which, for once, is urbane as well as urban. Sexism, soap opera and showbiz all come under scrutiny, and the screenplay is full of cracking dialogue.
All the acting is superb, none more so than in two small supporting roles by Bill Murray (as Hoffman's room-mate) and Pollack (as Hoffman's agent).
