Critical opinion is divided as to whether this or The Swarm (1978) is the worst disaster movie of all time. Both were made by Irwin Allen - and this was certainly the biggest financial disaster. Made for $22 million, it took less than two at the box office. One of the worst actresses of all time, Jacqueline (Wild Orchid) Bisset, gives another memorable performance.
