A corporate spy (Leonardo DiCaprio) invades victim’s minds and steals secrets from their subconscious. But he has issues of his own.

A breakneck pace and some entertaining, imaginative visual flourishes don’t really rescue a muddled screenplay that lacks any sense of fun, or a persuasive view of what dreams really look like. The absence of sex is especially peculiar. As in some of his previous films - especially Memento and The Dark Knight - there is an overlay of pretension, and a failure to think through how human motivation really works. It’s gimmicky enough to pass the time, but a waste of an interesting premise.
