Illuminating study of the boy racer.

Senna is an affectionate, endearing and clear-sighted account of the talented Brazilian racing driver (pictured) who died on the track at the age of 34.
Its especially illuminating about his not always terribly sporting rivalry with Alain Prost, and Sennas run-ins with the sports autocratic officials, notably the Frenchman Jean-Marie Balestre, who has much the same easy charm and transparent incorruptibility of FIFAs Sepp Blatter.
Director Asif Kapadia whos really more of an editor, since he hasnt shot any new footage - makes excellent use of found material. This may not be the most innovative documentary, nor the most probing (it fails to mention Sennas marriage or ex-fiancee), but it is intelligently assembled and avoids hagiography.
