Planes may amuse very small children, but itís a stain on the name of Disney, a shameful, no-effort clone of a former Pixar hit by the Mouse-brained corporation that took it over and appears now to be sucking it dry of enterprise and originality.

Planes is simply Cars with wings, and you may recall that Cars was mostly a triumph of merchandising. This was intended to be a direct-to-DVD release, and thatís the way it should have stayed.

Itís a shame to see John Lasseterís name on it as executive producer. This is the man responsible for Pixarís greatest hits, and itís horrible to see him allowing quality control to slip to these abysmal depths.
