Piratical derring-do, which doesn't quite deserve classic status because of colourless leads: Maureen O'Hara, below par, and Tyrone Power in a role more suited to Errol Flynn. But there's plenty to enjoy in the eventful script and splendid array of dastardly villains, including George Sanders (with red beard) and Anthony Quinn (with one eye). Leon Shamroy's cinematography won an Oscar.
