A housewife (Penny Singleton) helps her husband (Arthur Lake) when he gets into debt.

Reviewed by Chris Tookey

A precursor of today's domestic TV sitcoms, and the first of 28 popular comedies made between 1938 and 1950 about the small-town Bumstead family. This one and Blondie on a Budget (1940) are generally regarded as the best. Other highlights are said to be Blondie Plays Cupid (1940), Blondie Goes Latin (1941) and Blondie Has Servant Trouble (1940).

"Light fare, but universal in appeal... could be clicko series."
