An uneven, talky collection of actors' improvisations around the theme of Brooklyn.

This by-product of the Wayne Wang-Paul Auster comedy Smoke is set in and around a shop run by a friendly tobacconist (Harvey Keitel). It is memorable for a couple of brief monologues: one by rock singer Lou Reed (pictured) lampooning Sweden, another by cult director Jim Jarmusch satirising Hollywood's attitude to smoking. The rest is amiable but shapeless, and three of the guest performances - by Roseanne, Madonna and Lily Tomlin - are dreadfully self-conscious.
