Flash Gordon (Buster Crabbe) tries to prevent the planet Mongo from colliding with Earth.

Condensed from the original 13-part serial, this comic-strip vision of the future is charmingly dated and has great curiosity value - although, needless to say, modern kids will find it primitive. Made on the cheap, the film makes effective use of music and sets borrowed from The Bride of Frankenstein. Not surprisingly, it was ignored by critics of its day; however, children who grew up with it in the 1930s, have ensured that in some quarters, at least, it is considered a classic.
