The release of this cartoon in 1983 marked the return of Mickey Mouse to the big screen after a 31-year absence. It was also one of the first signs that the Disney studio was rediscovering the brilliant form of its heyday.
Itís not as magical or scary as Dickensís great ghost story (The Muppetsí Christmas Carol is more faithful to the Victorian spirit) , and at 26 minutes it might have been longer; but thereís plenty to amuse, and Donaldís uncle - Scrooge McDuck - is a great invention.
