A child called Joe (Seth Green) grows up during the golden age of radio.

Reviewed by Chris Tookey

Great cinematography (by Carlo Di Palma), production design (by Santio Loquasto) and art direction (Speed Hopkins); shame about the script, which for some reason was Oscar-nominated, along with the art direction. The screenplay is a shapeless, rambling affair which apes Fellini's Amarcord. (Most of Allen's worst films mimic a European model.) Pleasant and unobjectionable, the movie offers a foolishly rosy view of the past, along with a disappointingly sanctimonious view of the present.
