One of the great film documentaries, based on 350 hours of interviews with witnesses of the Holocaust. Moving as well as harrowing, it shows how the nightmarish and unimaginable can quickly become everyday and routine: a railway administrator speaks of the practical problems posed by transporting so many Jews to the concentration camps; a barber talks of cutting the hair of those entering the gas chamber. Horrible, but compelling.
