The concept is cool and all, but think about how dreams really function and it teeters on the brink of wrong-headedness. Donít we ever dream of sex? Why are these mind-scapes like sterile set pieces in a middling Bond movie? Inception isnít the deep wow we might have hoped for, just the big one we needed.
(Tim Robey, Daily Telegraph)
Along with technical brilliance and ingenuity, there is something disconcertingly self-important about Inception with a plot that clogs and flags markedly in its final act.
(Peter Bradshaw, Guardian)
Like a dream, Nolanís film fades swiftly in the light - but while it lasts, it feels like thereís nothing more important to decipher.
(Dave Calhoun, Time Out)
After a couple of days' reflection, while I still would happily recommend the film as one of the best blockbusters I've seen this year, the flaws of the movie became increasingly apparent.
(Alex Fitch, Electric Sheep)
Emotional intimacy is lacking, with some characters functioning merely as devices to explain an increasingly complicated scenario, but there's no doubt that Nolan knows how to craft an enthralling brainteaser.
(Stella Papamichael, Radio Times)
