"It may not hold attention for its entire length, but a bit of clever scripting, direction, acting, or a brief flash of filmic know-how sometimes makes you wonder if a little more time, money and care would not have resulted in a good picture all the way."
(Don Miller, Films in Review)
"For some reason never previously released in this county [the film] may be less compulsive than A Bucket of Blood, from which its plot clearly derived, but it still remains the best full-length horror comedy ever made in two days... But the [shooting] schedule is never for a moment allowed to constrict the action... The Jewish humour inclines to carry on a little at times, but whenever it does, Corman switches to one of his inexhaustible supply of splendid comic characters... No masterpiece, but it's fun."
(Tom Milne, MFB, 1973)
