If you recall the scene in Dahmer (2002) where Jeremy Renner as the deranged killer drills holes into his victims' heads, you'll know what watching this Freudian claptrap of a thriller is like.
(Brandon Judell, CultureCatch)
It's hard to connect with a movie when it tries so hard to fool you; is this a dream, is it not, is it a dream within a dream? Who cares? Just commit to something and get on with it. A crushing bore.
(Michelle Alexandria, Eclipse Magazine)
Inception is a nightmare for audiences looking for coherent fiction.
(Christian Toto, What Would Toto Watch?)
By God itís boring... For all the visual inventiveness, the story line is almost impossible to understand on a first viewing. The pleasure of watching a good heist film is totally undermined because you have no idea whatís going on.
(Cosmo Landesman, Sunday Times)
I have heard it said that fans will return to Inception for further viewings in a bid to extract more meanings from its layers. Good luck to them - Iím not sure theyíll find much. Nolanís modus operandi here is to present a muddle at such a breakneck speed that it gets mistaken for profundity.
(Jenny McCartney, Sunday Telegraph)
