Robert Downey Jr
Actor, Home From the Holidays (1995)
Then there is the horrible performance by Robert Downey, Jr, who has been allowed to “improvise”, that is, chew the scenery and get on everybody's nerves. (Is he on drugs or something?)
(Anthony Quinn, Mail on Sunday)
Actor, One Night Stand (1997)
Fine work is shafted by an unconvincing, lazy and excruciatingly mannered performance by Downey Jr as Charlie, the doomed 'contemporary' dancer and Max's confessor. Like so much of the film, he proves too unsympathetic to truly win over the audience.
(Simon Braund, Empire)
