Christian Duguay
Director, Art of War (2000)
French-Canadian director Christian Duguay clearly wants to be Hong Kong action director John Woo. He directs with so little idea of story-telling and such inattention to character that when people do occasionally stop to talk, the audience has no idea what they are on about, and even less inclination to care. The film loses no opportunity to expose the naked bodies of Asian babes, deals almost entirely in racial stereotypes and then has the nerve to lecture us on racism. This is wearisome trash performed to a headache-inducing soundtrack, a movie to be approached with great trepidation and a 12-hour supply of paracetamol.
