Dakota Fanning
Actress, Uptown Girls (2003)
Dakota Fanning’s pert-little-madam routine has a blood-chillingly precious sort of grown-up talentlessness. Brittany Murphy’s kooky voice is more annoying than ever, speaking the lines as if she’s gargling with golden syrup, so that it will slip an octave in a sort of spoken yodel. Seeing the two of them together making common cause is creepily infantile and the sinister moppet Fanning will soon have you longing for the firm government of King Herod.
(Peter Bradshaw, Guardian)
Actress, The Cat in the Hat (2003)
Dakota Fanning plays the sweet little dear,
How I long to give Fanning a clip round the ear.
