Prince
Actor, Purple Rain (1984)
Unforgettably awful vanity production. For a big finish, Prince knocks the crowd dead with a dirgelike endition of the title song that makes Barbra Streisand's self-indulgent finale in A Star Is Born seem like an act of self-effacement. How can a movie make a fortune at the box office and at the same time squash a movie career? Watch this one if you dare but remember, dress purple.
(Edward Margulies & Stephen Rebello, Bad Movies We Love)
