A Christmas film for all the family, supposedly.

All I want for Christmas is to never see All I Want for Christmas again. Here is a calculating holiday fable that is phoney to its very bones — artificial, contrived, illogical, manipulative, and stupid. It's one of those movies that insults your intelligence by assuming you have no memory, no common sense, and no knowledge of how people behave when they are not in the grip of an idiotic screenplay.
(Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times)
It's enough to turn the kids from Santa to Satan.
(Simon Rose)
The film goes downhill as fast as a toboggan ride down Everest... So melting and slushy is the sentiment that Santa Claustrophobic grown-ups may rush screaming from the cinema.
(Chris Tookey, Sunday Telegraph)
