Hollywood's idea of a Norse saga is action-packed, violent and brutal - terrific entertainment on an epic scale. Not one for the historians or the over-sensitive; but small boys of all ages will adore this. A big hit in 1958, it still turns up opn TV quite often and is worth a look. Jack Cardiffs cinematography is outstanding, and makes excellent use of real locations.
