Hilariously overwrought, melodramatic soap opera, with abortions, adultery, sensationalism and histrionics. Joan Crawford, with red hair and black eyebrows, is presumaby meant as a cautionary tale; but most of all, she's a cautionary tale against over-acting. Winner of the coveted Harvard Lampoon award as worst picture of its year
