| Made on a lower budget than its successors, this action-packed adventure nevertheless lays down the template for all future Bond movies. Sean Connery bears little relation to Ian Fleming's Old Etonian creation, but he has a rugged virility which made him more attractive to a mass international audience. The gadgetry and special effects had not yet overwhelmed the narrative; by far the most special effect is the moment when Ursula Andress (pictured left) rises out of the ocean. |

| Sean Connery? Im looking for Commander James Bond, not an overgrown stunt-man. |
