The world's most athletic archaeologist (Harrison Ford) searches for a scared stone in 1935.

Prequel to The Raiders of the Lost Ark. The attitude of the film towards the Indian characters is patronising; and the heroine (Kate Capshaw, later to become Mrs Spielberg) is a pain. But the film is exciting, amusing and moves at a whip-cracking pace: though the weakest of the three Indiana Jones movies, it's still enjoyable. It won an Oscar for best visual effects, and was nominated for John Williamms's score.
