| The release of this cartoon in 1983 marked the return of Mickey Mouse to the big screen after a 31-year absence. It was also one of the first signs that the Disney studio was rediscovering the brilliant form of its heyday. |

| Its not as magical or scary as Dickenss great ghost story (The Muppets Christmas Carol is more faithful to the Victorian spirit) , and at 26 minutes it might have been longer; but theres plenty to amuse, and Donalds uncle - Scrooge McDuck - is a great invention. |
