John Hustons exciting thriller was among the first to see a robbery from the thieves point of view. Sterling Hayden and Sam Jaffe stand out; a young Marilyn Monroe (in a small role, though you wouldnt know this from the publicity material) exudes star quality as a moll. Harold Rosson's atmospheric cinematography was nominated for an Oscar. |
