As long as you don't expect the subtlety of Jane Austen's novel and can tolerate the odd Hollywood gaffe, this is a highly polished, very entertaining filming of the classic novel. Laurence Olivier (pictured right) smoulders, Greer Garson is pert, and the art direction (Cedric Gibbons and Paul Groesse) deserved its Oscar.
